Weekly Wrap Up: Things You Didn't See

This book honestly deserves a spot by itself because it's just that good. I think I'll do a post about it when I finish it.
This picture was actually taken Thursday of last week but I decided not to create a post about it.
Absolute favorite blogger. If you haven't heard of her you have to be living under a rock. Her style is so inspiring and classic. You can check her out here.

New outfit post tomorrow!

Trend Alert: Chic Athletic Jersey Dress & Clear Clutch

So I know I have, yet again, been M.I.A from the blogging world but I am back and it is time for....*drum roll please*
Yet another Trend Alert!

So I'm sure everyone has been noticing the trend going on lately in the celeb world, which has of course transitioned it's way into the fashion blogging atmosphere. It is the Athletic Jersey worn as basically a dress, or a tunic, if you will. I was on Fashion Bomb Daily and I came across this post called "Try a Trend: Athletic Jersey Chic"....

Another big trend this season is the clear clutch. Whether it be boxy like this one...
C/O Swellmayde.com
Or more of an envelope like this one...
This trend I really like for some reason. I'm not sure how long it'll be around but I find it to be done in a way that is more classy, and in smaller proportions, than the way it was done many years ago.

How do you feel about these two trends? Let me know in the comments below!

My Shopping Cart: ZARA

So woohoo for another series!!!
I'm super excited about this one because I love shopping, especially online shopping. Also, I enjoy knowing what others styles are and if they could go shopping at any store which one it would be and what exactly would they want to buy. This is my version of that.
So the first post of this series is going to be about ZARA! I absolutely love ZARA. Every piece is so "crisp" and "clean" and "polished". They literally make you want to buy everything. Plus their prices are pretty reasonable for such a high quality. So here I put together what I would purchase from ZARA  if given the chance.

So the first thing I came across while on ZARA was this blazer. Just shoot me right now. I can't get over this. It's just perfect for everything, work, dinner, a date, EVERYTHING! You can purchase this blazer for $49.99 here.

I'm all about the ease of wear and being comfortable. I feel this fits that description with a stylish feel. Plus it has pockets, how much comfort can you get? $39.99? It also comes in a blue color, GORGEOUS! Really! You can find this dress here.
And because not everyone is a huge fan of a lot of color I decided to add a tunic of a similar style as the first one. This one is $59.99 and can be found here.
This is just a great skirt. Period. The vintage feel I get from it is just the best. And also goes perfectly with the top below, if I may add. This one is for $39.99 and is here.

The perfect "go with everything" top. Easy to wear and comfortable and I think suitable for all body types, which I find important. It's a steal at $29.99. Can be found here.
This is an all occasion heel. Similar to the Louboutin's that were released, I believe it to be, about a year ago. Very spring appropiate. Can be found here for $49.99.

Nothing needs to be said about this Messenger bag but, it can be handheld as more of a clutch or, being that it has a strap, can be put on the shoulder. Super versatile. I want it now! And the price is super reasonable at $25.99 here.

......And that's just a few of the things I would purchase from ZARA. There is so much more but that would literally take me all day. P.S. Their shipping is FREE! :)

Let me know what your favorite place is to shop and what do you look for?

The Beauty of Nature and Other Things

I'm not much of a outdoorsy person but, in some instances, I do enjoy stepping out into nature and basking in the beauty.

Always wanted to capture a shot like this. I wish to be a mother some day. So inspiring.

I also decided to pick up a pair of Danish inspired sandals from T.J. Maxx that I'd been eyeing for a few days now. I found them to be pretty unique and I don't have any like them in my wardrobe. And also, they were a complete steal at $10.

Trend Alert: White Asymmetrical Skort

So this is a new series I'm starting called "Trend Alert" where I'll be showing you guys some of the recent trends that have been going around lately. Not sure, exactly how long I'll do it but I love the idea for now:) But I won't do them everyday, just occasionally. I'll be telling you which ones are good and bad, in my own opinion.
So let's get started!

To begin, the first one I want to talk about is a skort! Yes, I said a skort. I don't remember seeing these since I was in elementary school. Which has been quite a while. The ones that are trending now are usually white with an asymmetrical thing going on. I never thought I'd see the day when I would be calling a skort chic but this one definitely fits that description. Here are a few ways that I would personally style them.
All photos courtesy of Sheinside.

Love this preppy-ish look. Super feminine!
This one is also feminine but those heels are a very classy touch.

I love this fashionable business/work approach.
Probably my fav!

How bright and fun is this one?

I adore the easiness of this outfit.
I think the skort is a perfect compliment.

Insta-Lovin' (Happy 4th of July!)

These are just a few of my favorite Instagram pictures that I've posted. I go through Instagram mostly to see what kind of new trends are coming and what's popular in the fashion world. It's really a great way to stay updated and to always be on the look out for what's hot and what's not!
I've never been one to follow trends to the
"t" and include every single one into my wardrobe but for the ones that I do find intriguing I always try and find a way to incorporate them. I feel it's always best to have your own original style and to pick and choose what trend is right for you. Happy Trending!

So the importance of this picture is not so much the picture itself but more so the person in the picture. I LOVE ADELE. Her music is always perfection. Never a miss.
So this is an old OOTD. Blogging wasn't in my life yet so Instagram was my go to place to express myself. I love the monochromatic-ness going on with the tights and the Jeffrey Campbell inspired ankle boots. Also, being that I'm short, the length of this sweater dress with the jean blazer is the perfect length.
So, honestly, the reason I decided to post this picture is because my boyfriend said it is one of his favorites. But I kind of like it because this was the best I ever tied a scarf on my head:)
I felt sort of like a photographer after taking this picture simply for the fact that the angle looks pretty darn good. The writing at the bottom right of the page was written by my dear boyfriend who I love so much.
How cute is he? His name is Benji and he's my Tibetan Spaniel mix. Aren't his eyes just dreeammmyyy!
I believe this to the fullest. You have to dress the part. ALWAYS.
Seriously, I feel this way. I tried to be like everyone else in some aspects but it just wasn't worth it. I learned that in order to really be comfortable with yourself you have to first learn how to get over what others' perception of "right" is.
And lastly guys...
HAPPY 4TH OF JULY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Light and Darkness

So I know I've been M.I.A for a while but I have a good reason. I promise. I titled this blog post "Light and Darkness" because when I was deciding on this outfit I really wanted to express more than one side of me. The "light" of this outfit is the dress. With the gradual color change from an aqua blue to a more, sort of, cerulean. I thought it really complimented the black tights and shoe combo "darkness" making the outfit not too harsh but giving it a little edge. I just feel like this is a pretty easy and fun outfit.

Steering away from my healthy eating lifestyle for a sec, we went to Carrabba's Italian Restaurant to celebrate my mom's birthday. This dish was well worth the calories!
